Samson Avetian's Bio

Mr. Samson Avetian is the founder of Avetian & Co, a family-office structured investment company. Samson was born in 1981 in Yerevan, Armenia but spent young part of his adult life in Sweden. After having obtained a Master’s degree in Financial Management and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Gothenburg and Stockholm University respectively, Samson spent 3 years at Capgemini Consulting doing international M&A, strategy and operational efficiency projects in Capital Markets, Investment Management, Insurance and Banking.

In 2010 Samson moved to Boston to receive an MBA from Harvard Business School with focus on Macroeconomics and Investment management. While there, he also took course at Harvard Kennedy School of Government with focus on economic development.

While in Boston Samson met his future wife and they moved back to Armenia after more than 15 years of absence. They now have 3 children, Ernest, Christian and Maria.

Upon arrival he established his first company Arrow Global Ltd which was later, upon operational and investment process transformation work conducted in 2017, renamed Avetian & Co. The portfolio management strategy is based upon macro research while the philosophy is value and long term oriented.

Samson is active in the public sphere sharing his opinions in different media outlets including Forbes Armenia. He also established his analytical website AInsights.am that shares some of the research produced on Armenia and global economy. He is the author of the forthcoming book “Armenian Economy – The Next 25 Years”. Finally, Samson has been advising private and public sector entities as well as is part-time committed to lecturing at AUA (Business Undergrad) and Heratsi University (EMBA).

Samson is the founding member of AICA, member of Harvard Club of Armenia and was the president of the latter organization in 2013 and 2017.
